Help your community, board and crews see what's coming

We make the 3D visuals, interactive tools and training simulators that help airports explain what's changing and get people ready for it. 750+ projects since 2014, with teams in New Zealand, Australia and Canada.

What airports ask us to help with

Airport projects have to make sense to people who'll never read the technical reports: neighbours, passengers, staff and boards. Here's what we've made for airports dealing with the same things, from a single explainer video to a full digital twin.

Where to start
Regional airport

Start with a 3D model of your airport

A base model in Spatial Reality is low-cost to set up. Use it for planning and comparing design options, with your obstacle limitation surface (OLS) shown in 3D. Add to it as projects come up, and make videos and images from it for your board and community.

Bring the full set to your next big project

Animations for terminal works and baggage handling upgrades, flight path and noise tools for runway changes, a hub for your major projects and an airside driving simulator. We'll help you work out where to start.

For Moree Airport, we built a digital twin of the airport and ran workshops in Spatial Reality, our interactive 3D platform, so the council could compare design options. It shows the OLS in 3D and animates Q300 and Q400 aircraft on the taxiway and flight path.

"Using their 3D rapid-option testing capability, we were able to visualise multiple scenarios, leading to viable concepts and in turn to well integrated detailed designs."

For Sydney Airport, we made a video that mixes 3D animation with helicopter footage, plus stills from the same 3D work, to explain the draft of its Master Plan 2045. The plan was approved in August.

Flight paths and noise to explain

Interactive tools and short videos that show how runway modes and flight paths work, and what they mean for a street.

For Melbourne Airport's Noise Sharing Plan, people can check predicted noise near their address and see possible flight paths for the proposed third runway. Our explainer videos show how runway modes are chosen and how often each is used.

Train drivers on a new runway before it opens

Brisbane Airport needed to train airside operations officers on its new runway system without taking them onto the airfield. We built a simulator on an interactive 3D model of the airport, driven with a wheel and pedals.

Aviation Rescue Fire Fighters trained on it before the new runway opened, practising their response and the best routes

Instructors set the weather and time of day, and add hazards such as foreign object debris (FOD), wildlife, drones and cranes.

It's now part of training for the airport and for other organisations on the airfield, including Airservices Australia's Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting Service.

Spatial Reality, the platform behind it, also runs in a browser, on a kiosk or in virtual reality (VR).

"It can be storming outside. It could be night time. Any time of the day or night we can create these simulations. It's very flexible."

At the Hui it runs on our touchscreen at stand 2. The wheel-and-pedals version comes to AAA in Melbourne.
