our solution for

Powerhouse Parramatta Portal

The Powerhouse Parramatta portal is the official online presence for the NSW Government’s landmark cultural infrastructure project, the new Powerhouse Museum in Western Sydney.

The challenge

The website needed to showcase the scale, ambition and latest construction updates of Australia’s largest cultural infrastructure project since the Sydney Opera House, highlighting features like more than 18,000 sqm of exhibition and public space and expected annual visitation of around two million. It provides organised access to project content including construction timelines, sustainability, notifications and a document library, supported by compelling visuals and interactive elements that bring complex technical information to life.

Our solution

The site’s design and animation work enhances user engagement, making dense project information such as structural engineering highlights and sustainability commitments easy to understand and visually striking. Interactive visuals and dynamic content help convey not just what the project is, but why it matters, strengthening stakeholder connection to the development and its outcomes.

For the project team, the portal serves as a central communication platform that streamlines dissemination of updates and reduces repetitive queries. It also supports public transparency and accountability, giving community members ready access to the latest construction milestones, news and documents. By making technical, timeline and sustainability information accessible to a broad audience, the site creates informed interest and builds anticipation ahead of the museum’s opening. Overall, the visual‑led design and intuitive navigation elevate the project’s online presence and help position Powerhouse Parramatta as a major cultural destination for NSW.
