our solution for

Melbourne Airport New Baggage System Video

Melbourne Airport animation to demonstrate the increasing capacity and capability of its international baggage system.

The challenge

Enable stakeholders and wider community to understand and visualise the exciting enhanced baggage system upgrade happening behind the walls at Melbourne Airport.

Our solution

Melbourne Airport is increasing the capacity and capability of its international baggage system with next-generation technology, high-speed checked bag screening machines and a tote-based Independent Carrier System introduced. The upgrade designed to future proof Melbourne Airport’s international baggage system, with additional storage capability that will enable new opportunities for an enhanced customer experience.

Spatial Media supported Melbourne Airport with telling the story of this project through the creation of an explainer video to demonstrate the project benefits for stakeholders including airlines, passengers and airport staff and provide an understanding the of the project scale and complexity. The animation video explains the new journey for baggage and what will happen “behind the walls” to improve the experience and enable them to process more bags, while improving baggage tracking and reducing the likelihood of damage to luggage.

The animations are being used in public communications to effectively showcase the project works for the baggage system upgrades that a passenger or stakeholder is not able to physically visualise occurring in the public space at the airport.
