our solution for

The Plains Energy Park Portal and Map

Digitally sharing the Plains Renewable Energy Park a proposed large-scale development that aims to harness wind and solar energy to provide affordable, reliable and clean electricity for homes and businesses in NSW.

The challenge

The Plains project developer Engie were seeking a customised web portal to house key project information, communicate with stakeholders and incorporate a custom-built interactive map that could showcase the research and project concept work conducted to date including biodiversity studies and land assessment reports.

Our solution

Spatial Media collaborated with Engie in understanding the project information that was critical to communicate with community and how that would be best navigated via a custom site.

The custom web portal allows Engie to share opportunities for suppliers, employment, community benefit scheme and community sponsorship grants. Engie can also share project resource updates, FAQs and timeline information in a user-friendly manner.

The development of the interactive map involved a large dataset and working with the project team to determine what information was ideal to be shared for transparency without overwhelming the end user. Spatial Media’s expertise in crafting interactive maps enabled the project team to easily identify the desired data groupings and layers to be shown.
