Transurban Annual Art Prize - Canal to Creek

Interactive public art program and annual school engagement art prize competition

The challenge

Spatial Media was engaged by Transurban to create the Public Art Portal. A one-of-a-kind educational platform Canal to Creek allows teachers, students and art lovers to fully experience the 18 Canal to Creek artworks, like never before.

Our solution

The portal delivers a truly unique immersive experience with 360-degree views, in-depth interviews with the artists, and a comprehensive image library. Detailed teacher resources have also been developed by experienced Visual Arts educators which are aligned to the NSW Visual Arts Curriculum for Years 7-10 (Stages 4 & 5). No matter your location, you will be able to experience the artworks from the comfort of your classroom, or even your own home. Come take a look around and welcome to the exciting world of Canal to Creek. Each year students are invited to submit an artwork inspired by the Canal to Creek artworks and their connection to place to win a Prize. To view entries please visit the Gallery.

from our clients

They are our go to tech-savvy experts with huge amounts of creative flair!

COVID19 social distancing restrictions made having our large scale community event nearly impossible, so we decided to take our face-to-face event online. Spatial worked really closely with us to develop the concept, design and platform that would host our virtual community event. The Spatial team are exceptionally creative, with a fantastic ability to bring your idea to fruition in a way you never thought possible. They made our pen on paper scribble into something that over 45k stakeholders visited online, more than what we could have reached in person. Thank you
