our solution for

West Gate Tunnel Explore your Journey Tool

As the West Gate Tunnel Project moved closer to completion, a new tool launched to help Victorians prepare for future journeys using the new tunnels and road connections.

The challenge

Creating an easy to follow tool to cover different route options and types of travel. With exemptions and limits on freight the client needed very different messaging for truck drivers and logistics companies as there is significant changes to their travel with truck bans coming into play once it opened.

Our solution

Spatial Media created an advanced Driver Journey tool gives community members and stakeholders a chance to plan and see new journeys on the widened West Gate Freeway, the West Gate Tunnel and new ramps and connections designed for quicker and easier travel.

The tool brings together several features that make complex information easy to navigate:
- Custom driver view videos allowing for a realistic view into the proposed design experience.

- Interactive address widget allowing users to set their own start and end points for a personalised journey.

- Custom web development enabling us to splice multiple pre-rendered videos into a wide range of route options based on the user’s selections.

- Linked interactive map offering multiple view modes and syncing live with the driver video to give users a seamless, intuitive experience across all components.

from our clients

They are our go to tech-savvy experts with huge amounts of creative flair!

COVID19 social distancing restrictions made having our large scale community event nearly impossible, so we decided to take our face-to-face event online. Spatial worked really closely with us to develop the concept, design and platform that would host our virtual community event. The Spatial team are exceptionally creative, with a fantastic ability to bring your idea to fruition in a way you never thought possible. They made our pen on paper scribble into something that over 45k stakeholders visited online, more than what we could have reached in person. Thank you
