Spatial Media to Support Coomera Connector

As south-east Queensland grows, vital connections are required to support the rapid movement of people and services between Brisbane, Logan, and the Gold Coast.

As south-east Queensland grows, vital connections are required to support the rapid movement of people and services between Brisbane, Logan, and the Gold Coast. Often called the ‘Second M1’, the Coomera Connector will provide increased transport capacity to the state’s south-east as it is delivered to complete a 29km-connection between Coomera and Loganholme.

Spatial Media - Visual Engagement Solutions was delighted to have been engaged to create a suite of digital assets that brings to life the project’s future stages, so the entire community can understand the project and have their say on how it will develop. “We’re delighted to have been part of a flagship transport project in Queensland’s south-east for the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR),” said Spatial Media’s Dan Cain. “The Coomera Connector is set to transform movement between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, and as an organisation formed in Queensland, it is fantastic to have been involved in bringing this project to life for communities and stakeholders who will benefit from its construction.”

“Through our work, we know the benefits that digital engagement, clear visuals, interactive tools, and video content play in ensuring as many people as possible can understand, engage with, and visualise major project investment. It also provides clarity on concept design plans and construction impacts. As locals, we are also delighted to be part of the development of a project that will have significant benefits to the entire region Spatial Media calls home.

”As the first project delivered directly for the Department of Transport and Main Roads, Dan praised the organisation’s vision for community engagement.“As a growing business with its roots in Queensland, we are thrilled to be engaged by TMR. Their trust and support of an independent small business, and preparedness to utilise the latest digital and virtual technologies to bring to life a major project, is a credit to their innovative approach to community engagement and commitment to ensure that a critical project has the widest and most engaged audience possible.

”As the project takes shape, we look forward to sharing the latest assets we create to support the Coomera Connector.

I would highly recommend Spatial Media to any organisation.

I have worked with Spatial Media on a number of design development and master planning activities. Using Spatial Media’s 3D rapid-option testing capability, we were able to visualise multiple scenarios, leading to viable concepts and in turn to well integrated detailed designs. The team is a pleasure to work with and with their ideas generation approach to challenge and confirm client requirements, they offer significant benefits at all project stages. I would highly recommend Spatial Media to any organisation seeking to improve design development, decision-making, and stakeholder confidence across complex projects.

They were committed to accuracy and no ask was too hard

Spatial Media understood our brief to a tee and delivered a high quality animation and renders to bring our project to life for the community. Despite a short timeframe, we were given multiple opportunities to provide feedback and suggest changes, all of which were easily understood and promptly actioned. Isaac and the team were flexible, responsive and hit every deadline. They were committed to accuracy and no ask was too hard. The end product will be a centrepiece for communicating our project to the public.

Airside Driving Simulator an important part of the training program

It can be storming outside. It could be night time. Any time of the day or night we can create these simulations. It’s very flexible.
