our solution for

Hazelwood Mine Rehabilitation Project

Digital assets to show how ENGIE Hazelwood is rehabilitating the former Hazelwood Mine and Power station to deliver a safe, stable, sustainable and non-polluting site that enables productive future uses.

The challenge

The rehabilitation project involves final decommissioning activities, earthworks to reprofile steep slopes, reinstatement of water courses to a more natural alignment and the proposed creation of a pit lake to stabilise the large mine void and address the risk of fire from exposed coal.

Our solution

Spatial Media supported the ENGIE Hazelwood team with migrating their project website to SpatialEngage Enterprise to enable a more flexible customisable solution that can evolve as the project does. We also created still imagery to support the visualisation of the proposed pit lake with accurate scale and terrain to demonstrate the slopes, and provide understanding of the site which is problematic to access

Spatial quickly understood our overall objectives

We have an energy project that proved difficult for our stakeholders to comprehend. Spatial quickly understood our overall objectives and then worked closely with us to produce a stunning production that met our brief. We now have a valuable tool to use that provides clarity to our stakeholders and community about our project.
